Dr. Safnuk (Director)

Dr. Safnuk is a clinical psychologist who has held senior positions in both the health and mental health sectors. She has provided provincial direction in the development, delivery and evaluation of health services as a Project Manager and Senior Policy Analyst for Saskatchewan Health. She has served as the Chair of the Oral Examination Committee with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists where she led the development and implementation of the oral examination process in the province. Dr. Safnuk is a clinical associate in the clinical psychology doctoral training program at the University of Regina where she is actively involved in the training and supervision of students, interns and psychologists completing their registration. Dr. Safnuk maintains an active private practice in addition to her work as president of APT Canada.

Dr. Helen Beresford

Dr. Helen Beresford is a clinical psychologist with Summit Psychology Group in Nelson, BC. With a strong background in family systems, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and narrative therapies, Helen provides supervision/consultation to area mental health professionals in addition to maintaining an active private practice.


Dr. Torie Carlson

Dr. Torie Carlson recently left his position as assistant director of the Canmore Pain Clinic to devote more time to his private practice and his position at Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary. He has a keen interest in the practice of rural psychology having completed the Rural and Northern residency program at the University of Manitoba prior to moving to Alberta.


Dr. John Cook

Dr. John Cook is a psychologist in Victoria who maintains an active private practice specializing in the treatment of stress, depression and anxiety disorders.


Dr. Lillian Esses

Dr. Lillian Esses has been in full-time private practice in Winnipeg for the past 20 years where in addition to her clinical work, she supervises training therapists and consults to hospitals, businesses and mental health organizations. Prior to entering private practice she was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba in the departments of Psychology and Psychiatry where she designed a multidisciplinary family therapy training program for graduate students in psychology, social work, and psychiatry.


Dr. Deborah Hay

Deborah Hay is a rural consultant in psychology for the Prairie North, Heartland and Saskatoon Rural Health Regions. Deb also works as a consultant psychologist to the Ranch Ehrlo Society residential youth facility.


Lynn Hiscoe

Lynn Hiscoe is a social worker and clinical counselor who works as the manager of the BC Interior region for the Occupational Rehabilitation Group of Canada. She is also the director of training and development for ORGOC, which has offices in BC, SK, MB, ON and QC.


Dr. Todd Kettner

Dr. Kettner is a clinical psychologist with experience in both public and private mental health settings. He is currently a clinical associate at Simon Fraser University and the University of British of British Columbia - providing training and supervision to clinical psychology doctoral students and psychologists completing their registration. Dr. Kettner was previously a faculty member in the School of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. He has served as president of the British Columbia Psychological Association where he co-chaired the Continuing Education committee and was a founding member of the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards committee which presents annual awards to top companies in BC in partnership with the Vancouver Board of Trade, WorkSafe BC and major disability insurance companies. Dr. Kettner maintains an active private practice in addition to his work as vice-president of APT Canada.


Stacy Lee

Stacy Lee is a clinical supervisor with North Peace Community Resources Society in Fort St. John, BC. She has extensive clinical experience in addiction services, high-risk youth, mental health and private practice counselling. Stacy combines her clinical experience with her background in teaching and adult education to make her training workshops come alive.


Dr. Karen Litke

Karen Litke is a psychologist with Sunrise Health Region child and youth mental health in Yorkton, SK. Karen also maintains an active private practice.


Dr. Jeff Martzke

Dr. Jeff Martzke is a clinical neuropsychologist at Summit Psychology Group in Nelson, BC and works part-time in the Acquired Brain Injury program for the Interior Health Authority. Jeff has held clinical teaching/research appointments at UBC and SFU for many years and currently teaches undergraduate psychology courses at Selkirk College.


Kim Paisley

Kim Paisley is a psychologist and director of clinical services for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections young offender custody facilities.


Renee Schmidt

Renee J. Schmidt is a Registered Psychologist who lives and works in Regina, Saskatchewan. Currently in Private Practice she offers assessment and treatment to varied ages and cultural groups specific to a variety of clinical, developmental, interpersonal, and behavioral areas. Consultation work focuses on providing education and training specific to improved responses and interventions around at-risk individuals. She has previously worked in a variety of clinical settings including in-patient hospital psychiatry providing assessment, treatment, case-liasion, and program development, residential care facilities working with at-risk youth and youth in custody, in-home therapeutic work with families, and outpatient mental health. She is a certified training coach with Living Works Education as well as a faculty member with APT Canada and has facilitated training workshops across Canada and the United States.


Blair Sirup

Blair Sirup is a psychologist and manager of the young offender team and rural services for Regina Child and Youth Services.
