The DBT Masterclass is a 4-day course from the Association for Psychological Therapies (APT), a leading provider of accredited Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) training courses.
It is the only DBT training that is APT-accredited and also gives you access to APT’s relevant downloadable resources for use post-course. The course is available for teams and can be attended face-to-face or online. It can also be completed as part of the Extended Training DBT course.
The major teaching techniques on this course are case presentation and discussion, video-presentations, and reflective exercises, so delegates are expected to substantially develop both their knowledge and their skills during the four days.
Delegates have the opportunity to do several things:
Note: To attend this course you must have or be eligible for APT's DBT Accreditation, Level 3 and, because of the case material likely to be discussed, also have a professional qualification which insists upon patient confidentiality.
All delegates are registered at APT as having attended the course, and receive a certificate to acknowledge their attendance, registration, and APT-Accreditation at the appropriate level. As a bona fide APT event, this course automatically has accreditation from The Association for Psychological Therapies. This accreditation is given weight by the fact of over 100,000 professionals having attended APT training.
Booking this training is easy...
For teams and organisations:
We bring the course and tutor to you, for an all-inclusive fee.
Price: $8,995 (plus tutor travel and accommodation expenses) for a group of up to 15 people. Extra delegates: $640 per person.
Option 2: Online Live and Exclusive course:
Live, interactive online course exclusively for your team or organisation.
Price: $8,995 for a group of up to 15 people (workbooks for every delegate are included in this price - if you require workbooks being sent to more than one location, there is an extra charge of $10 per extra address). Extra delegates $580 per person.
Option 3: 'Train the Trainer':
If you or a colleague are a senior professional (e.g. consultant psychologist) and have a talent for communication and teaching, then you are welcome to apply to become an APT-accredited tutor. You could then tutor the course - or your chosen modules from it - in your own organisation, under license.
This is not only a highly appropriate use of senior professionals, but it also saves your organisation the tutor-component of the fee (around 50%) each time you run it or your chosen modules.

APT prides itself on the feedback we receive about our courses. Below are just some of the great comments the DBT Essentials course has received.
“Oh my goodness... where to start... Hard work, thought provoking but ultimately very inspiring. The tutor's style of delivery brought to life the previous 6 days of training and enabled me to visualise how a DBT service might work with our partners in NPS. She also gave me confidence in myself to take these skills forward into my everyday practice. Thanks!"
“Once again, thank you for really fantastic training. The examples you provide are always so thought provoking and relevant. Invaluable experience of actually running a group. Thanks very much"
