A 3-day course from the Association for Psychological Therapies, a leading provider of Motivational Interviewing training. Includes APT accreditation and access to APT's post-course resources.
This is a course for people who have at least 6 months practice subsequent to receiving Level 3 APT-Accreditation (often much more). In lectures, the masterclass provides more depth on some of the topics in the Essentials course but is mainly focused on developing skill, based around the following components: listening to and making case presentations, watching video demos by others, role-play/real-play where you interview others and they interview you, and establishing a stable system for support and development for yourself in this area post course. The result is that you enhance your skill and technique, not just your knowledge. Successful completion also gains you APT's Level 4 accreditation in the subject.
People who attend this course normally fall into one of two categories:
1. Groups of professionals who see patients in 1:1 treatment settings, have a significant degree of clinical skill, and wish to become proficient in motivational interviewing.
2. 'Whole teams' (either in inpatient or community settings) seeking to develop a unified level of proficiency in motivational interviewing.
The professional affiliations of people attending this course include: mental health/psychiatric nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, probation officers and others working in a variety of settings including: Substance Misuse, Forensic, Adult Mental Health, and Children & Adolescents.
Option 1: We come and run a course in your organization:
We bring this 3-day course to your own organization for a fixed fee of $6,595 (plus tutor travel and accommodation expenses) and up to 15 people can attend. You can organize as many courses as you need, to cover the numbers you want to.
To book, email email@example.com, or click the button:
Option 2: 'Train the Trainer':
If you or a colleague are a senior professional (e.g. consultant psychologist) and have a talent for communication and teaching, then you are welcome to apply to become an APT-accredited tutor. You could then tutor the course - or your chosen modules from it - in your own organization, under license.
This is not only a highly appropriate use of senior professionals, but it also saves your organization the tutor-component of the fee (around 50%) each time you run it or your chosen modules.
